Kill! Kill! Kill! No, I've not turned murderous, or become an executioner. I've been reading about BP stopping all that oil leaking out. At least five headlines I saw that referred to it as a 'top kill' operation. Is the oil alive? It would explain why they've been having so much trouble with it. It wants to be free! How admirable - it truly is a vindication of our noble democratic freedom-loving ways that even a solution of dead hydrocarbons yearns for it, and to spread it amongst all the little creatures it meets. The word is that some of those animals don't like it! They must be communists or something. Why don't they go and live in Russia if they hate freedom so much? Yeah, I said Russia and not North Korea or whatever. What can I tell you, it's a retro phrase, I'm not going to butcher it. Would I do Charles Dickens' Bleak Flat? No, I wouldn't. Meanwhile Barack Obama say BP will have to pay for every Dime. So they've been giving the oil to chocolate bars too? Fantastic!
(International note - Dime was for a number of years the UK name for the Daim bar, a chocolate bar of Swedish extraction which can be bought worldwide in IKEA stores, and which is said to be kind of like Hershey's' Skor bar, although I wouldn't know about that)
Meanwhile the Toronto Globe and Mail says in a news that I spent £50 on Penguin Books on Sunday! It was £15! I'm getting sick of all these inaccurate reports in the world's press on my spending. Last week The New York Times said that I'd spent £800 on a very posh sandwich, and in April The Singapore Sling said that I'd spent £15,000 on a complete set of Pac-Man stickers. All lies. Anyway, they were Pakkuman stickers - Japanese, don't you know - including the incredibly rare leather and glass ones with the bubblegum encased in the flange. And it really was an amazing sandwich, how can you judge me when you haven't tasted it?
In these uncertain times, of course, you can always rely on It Is What It Is for the unadulterated truth.
that's all from me for now
see you around
