Doctor Who! We normally neglect it on It Is What It Is, as usually not only are there better things for us to be writing about but there are people writing about it more thoroughly than the It Is What It Is style guide will allow, but I really should this time, as it was the first time he'd regenerated for about five years, and the last episode produced by the people what brought it back about five and a half years ago after it had been off for about sixteen years. If you don't know what I'm talking about, what Doctor Who is, just google it, I'm not going to go into all that now as most It Is What It Is readers will know.
Anyway, I particularly liked it more for what it didn't do as for what it did do, although I very much enjoyed it, as this team's track record with big finales is not great. But there were no Daleks, no Cybermen, nothing like that, and best of all the appearances from old characters, while still unnecessary, were very much kept in their place, as opposed to previous years where they were always shoehorned into the plot en masse in the most clumsy and unsatisfying way. The return of The Master was fine, as he had room to really get involved and not have to compete with Uncle Tom Cobley and all. So, a big thumbs up from me, as I don't find it that easy to think of anything really terrible. And if I can, well, it didn't spoil it. It's the difference between a plate of chips of whatever quality with a pungent splash of poo sauce on the side, and a plate of chips that are tasty which has the odd burnt one in. It's easy to put the burnt ones to one side, but to separate chips from the poo smell - well, best to just get as far away from them as possible.
Oh, and the new one looks decent enough too.
I also changed my appearance today - I did my roots. There was too much of my hair that was dark brown, when it should be purple, so I sorted it out. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it now, as I made almost no mess, and on previous occasions I've made a great deal of mess. There is still purple on my bathroom rug from the last time. I didn't even get much purple on the plastic gloves this time. I'm not going to supply any pictures, because what would be the point? "Look! I look the same as I did last time you saw a photo of me!" I'm not Status Quo. I don't think anyone has ever confused me with Status Quo, and, if I was going to be reckless and speculate, I would hazard a guess that no-one ever will. It Is What It Is will never be Whatever You Want.
that's all from me for now
see you around
