Hello again iiwiiers
Annie goes home today, which will be weird at first, but I'll get used to it. It's been nice having her here, but I'll see her again soon. That's all you're getting from me. It feels odd talking about such things here, but it would have felt stranger not doing so. I suspect that I've probably said that on previous occasions. Possibly all of them. Not all occasions. You know what I mean.
There were some newses today trying to drag me down. Telling me habitable planets are probably dead dead common so don't go thinking I'm so special. Well, tommy-rot. None of them have me on them, do they? I'd know about it if they did. No, only this planet has me on it, therefore it is special. Maybe somewhere in the universe there's a planet where some thing writes a blog that's in a lot of ways even better than It Is What It Is. But it's just not the same. Maybe it's a little bit too slick. Maybe it's a little bit too consistent. Maybe it's patchy in a contrived and formulaic way, as if some thing had discovered the essence of what makes a great blog (like mine) and was able to use that but ironically that very knowledge doomed them to fail, as I don't know the formula, I just do what I do, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I do things that that thing would never do, because he had the formula. I just use the force. The aliens can't use the force, it's mine.
I also read about a pink iguana on the Galapagos that Darwin missed. Well, something doesn't add up. It's a bit of a coincidence. What with all the Darwinning on at the moment. Is it his birthday or something? Don't bother getting him anything, he's dead and wouldn't appreciate it. Or worse, if he really likes the present he might haunt you. Anyway, it's not as if they've just discovered it. I don't remember them saying why it was news now, they were saying 'this is interesting because of x' but I don't recall why now. I don't think they said but I'm not going back now. They didn't say if they'd ruled out paint. I'm sure they did, but they didn't say. They did show a photograph that looked a bit like an iguana with pink paint on it. But I'm sure they wouldn't have made a mistake like that. Would they? No! Of course not!
Mind you, people trust experts too much, don't they? Hence the apocashlypse now. But other people don't trust them enough. Hence the apocashlpyse. Umm... yes, that's it people trust the wrong experts. Or rather, some people choose the wrong people to think are experts. So, choose wisely. And with good reason. I have a good system. When I'm assessing a potential expert I like to imagine whether they would look good in a top hat. If they would, I trust what they're saying. If not, I don't. It's never failed me yet. Well, not much. I only use the system when the choice is unclear - often some of the experts are obviously phoney, corrupt, deluded, ego-driven, ignorant, confused or just stupid. I don't use the top hat test then. But when I do use it, I've been right some of the time. But I'm not recommending that for you. I don't know how good you are at imagining whether people would look good in a top hat or not. You'll have to find your own path to wisdom. It Is What It Is can only help you, it can't do it for you.
that's all from me for now
see you around
