Hello again iiwiiers
The news of the day is that olives can now be grown in salty water! Well, I say now, nothing's changed in the sense of them fiddling with olives or inventing a new way to grow them, but they've done a study that says the olives will be fine if it's moderately salty water. Although perhaps unless there is a standard definition of 'moderate' as a degree of saltiness it could be that the result was inevitable and that if the olives didn't do so well that level of saltiness would not have been regarded as moderate. Anyway, great news for us all as olives are a source of 'good fat' according to nutritional consensus right this minute, and they're delicious too.
Italian democracy takes another stride forward as they pass a new law saying the prime minister can't get done for committing crimes, funnily enough proposed by their criminal prime minister. Sorry, he's not a criminal, he's innocent of all the charges and it's perfectly reasonable for him to want the law changed so he doesn't have to waste his time in court. I think a lot of our so-called democratic governments should take a leaf out of their books. Wouldn't Bill Clinton's government have been more efficient if he'd passed a law saying he was allowed to lie about women and not had to deal with all that distracting stuff? And if Richard Nixon had passed a law saying he was allowed to arrange fraud, burglary and spying and stuff, or at least that he was allowed to cover it up, we wouldn't have had useless Gerald Ford as a president. Actually that's pretty much what happened when Ford pardoned him, but we didn't need to have Ford at all! Political leaders should be allowed to do whatever they want without any comebacks, how are they to realise their true capacity for evil otherwise?
The first 'official image' (i.e. artist's impression) of a proposed Russian-European manned spacecraft has been released. It's reuseable and lands with thrusters. If it happens. From what I can see, however 'Russian-European' is an odd way to describe it, it's Russian, but the Europeans will be cadging a lift on it. If they're good.
Rumours abound that that bounder Jonny Greenpeace will have another of his 'podcasts', whatever they are, on the go very soon! I've never been one for putting too much credence in rumours, however.
That's all from me for now
See you around
